Steve; From your photo's they do not show a consistant shape or size. What does the interior look like on that broken one. They could also be chert or other calcite. There are certain areas up here in Mt. where a person can find rounded rocks (hardened mud balls) that contain fossilized ammonites and crayfish inside.
