Very nice find JD! I have a 3D Ronald Reagan coin, pressed into a JFK half Dollar and gold plated, was a gift, it is a commemorative and maybe your ring is too. HH, Mike

J.D.,
Here is the pic of the pop-out coin that I found. It's a stick pin made from a 1912 Barber dime.
A coin dealer friend of mine collects these. He told me that many of these were made at the Pan-American Exposition.
You would furnish the coin and the vendor (for a fee) would produce the pop-out using some type of stamping machine or press.
The finished coin couls then be made into things such as bracelets, rings, pins, and charms.
Any denomination of coin could be used. There were even gold coins made into these.
Of course, the more valuable ones would be the higher denomination coins, or those made using several coins.

Re: How about "Pop-Out" 3-D face coin???

Yea,

Those pop-outs are cool. I think the coin is punched in from the other side the coin smooths out when punching and the art is carved in after. You should all also check out a hobo coin they are made from old Buffalo Nickles.

Keep @ it and HH!!
