Hotrocks? Slag? Wtf are these...

Hello gents looking for ideas on what these could possibly be. I found them in the etowah river... they register between a 19-23 on my fisher. I was thinking slag but idk. They all look very similiar.

Pretty cool whatever they are and I'm interested in seeing the response of what they actually are. I use to find slag in Ohio all the time. Looks different than any slag I've found, but that doesn't mean much.
 

I forgot to mention they are very light. Possibly Pumice?
 

Coke, made from coal. The iron in the coke is enough to set off the detector. I found this out from hunting a old gold refinery near Cripple Creek.
