I dug this the other day and have looked high and low for a positive ID.

I have found lots of pictures of the 55 Alive nomad but nothing with a light on top.
Could the light on top be a variation or a modification by the kid who owned it?

Here is a pic of the bottom. Looks to be a 1989 version.

Thanks for your help!

looks to me like some kid shoved something through the sun roof. I think the copyright date on it says 1989. There are tons of web sites devoted to hotwheels. This one seems to be pretty informative.... https://onlineredlineguide.com/

The Nomad had solid panels on the side rather than glass!

Yes Plug N Play My bad. I've always been a Ford man but in mechanics school I'd listen to the Bowties talk and usually brag. I remember a conversation that I only heard half of about a guy in someone's hometown who'd faked a sedan delivery from a Nomad. I guess after rattling around in my brain for 50Yrs I got it backwards.

I further hereby throw myself upon the mercy of the court!

Hello, are you sure that says 1989? That's a Red Line and I have an identical one with Black wall tires and mine says 1969. If its an original redline, it should be 1969. Others correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks and God Bless! Paul:coffee2:

You are correct. I followed the link Jewelerguy put up and it has lots of info on the redline series. Although the date on my car looks to be 89 ...a magnifying glass shows a clear 69. I guess my eyes are failing me.

Thank you for the correction!:occasion14:

Also, it looks like some kid was just being creative. All your help and my research indicates that no light was ever put on one of these cars by the manufacturer. The Light was glued on to the sun roof. Still...i think it looks pretty cool so i will leave it as i found it.
Here are some pictures of it in better lighting.

I will mark this as solved
