It appears to have a casting mark, meaning it was molded, rather than sculpted. Possibly with a stone dust / glue composite (I forget the name of that stuff) Which may help in the search for info.

Agreed. It is absolutely a casting. They can do amazing things with concrete there days so it's possibly that. That would give it the approximate weight and feel of stone. The most important thing is whether or not you enjoy owning it. IMO it's most likely not a piece of valauble artwork it's probably simply a piece of mass produced "tourist art" that is commonly made and sold overseas for export.
