Yes - it's half of a "cheek" snaffle bit... yours has the upper cheeks only.

More precisely... it's one half of a "half cheek snaffle". ::)

;D ;D Sorry, but snaffle beats curb any day of the week. Snaffle - easy bit for training on a soft mouth and easy on the horse - curb and other concoctions - for refining only. Regular snaffles don't have a shank - other bits do - the longer the shank, the harsher the bit.
