Hi All,
Found this yesterday - thought it was an old penny at first until I wiped the mud off to reveal a shiny Horse's head.
This was on a dry stream bed amongst and under stones; not too far from the Roman hoard site (will update about that soon, I promise) - and as it has been in wet conditions would have thought it would be more 'green' in colour if it was copper - It came up this colour, a Pinky-gold.
29mm diameter, 2mm thick, rimmed edge, not perfectly circular, weighs 9.3g, nothing on reverse.
Here are the pics:

Any ideas?
Thanks.

The opposite is the case, things found in the Thames come out with no Green on at all.
Although, it doesn't look copper based.
Don't know what it was but it may have had enamelling in the recesses. :dontknow:
