Yes.. it is fashioned after a Wilson Bit, but it is hand made and difficult to tell how old it is. It could be old or it could be a more modern day shop project.

Look up "snaffle bit." I've found a couple I'm saving for a wall display. A quick google search under "very old snaffle bit" got me a similar looking twist steel look as well. https://www.etsy.com/listing/540350...&ga_search_query=horse bit&ref=sr_gallery-1-8

I think it's a driving bit, a variation of a Wilson snaffle bit probably. Must have been for the worlds most hard headed horse.
