I've been picking at the yard that gave up the US Grant medallion off and on for several weeks (as time/weather permits)........
Found this little gem today at 6"............

111317 HC Ring.jpg

It's a silver plated Hopalong Cassidy ring from the '40s..........95% of the silver plate is still intact and stable!!
This particular permission has been extremely kind to me...........
Thanks for lookin' in and good luck hunting before the ground freezes us out!!

Love the ring Chizzy. I find it fun to dig kids items from the 40's through the 60's.

Thanks, L-D...........
Here's a small sample of what that permission has given..........

It's been a joy to find these among the many old coins I've recovered!!

Man that place is full of old toys. Love the Orphan Annie find. I believe the soldier laying down was a machine gunner. I dug one a couple years ago. This one is all lead.

Nice!!
Yep, all the figurines/soldiers are lead......I've got a headless calvary soldier, also. I recovered the head, but not sure how to reattach it..........

Some other goodies...........

Beck Yard 1017.jpg

All totaled.........25+ wheats, 6 IHPs (all pre 1900 including an 1864 "fatty"), a 1934 Walker half (my 2nd this season), 2 Washington quarters, a no date SLQ, several Rosies, 1 Merc, a few silver nickels and an Austrian Krozer from 1833..........it's been quite the giving yard!!

:headbang: Virgin ground. :notworthy: Man, you killed it. more than one keeper per hunt I bet. Awesome, let's me know there are more of them to be discovered.

I'm usually happy with one keeper per outing........this yard was giving up 4, 5 and 6 at a time.........I couldn't wait to get 2 hours to spend digging in that dirt!!

Dang Chizzy, your busy that sounds like a great hunt spot...I love that ring Id stack that right next to my gold rings cool toys also. Thanks for sharing those finds!!!!!

Thanks, Tommy.........I had 2 great yards to hunt this past summer. This one was the better of the 2............but, not by much...........

That’s a lot of toys. The kids really played on that lot. Great finds!

Thanks, scruggs............I'm getting quite a collection of Tootsies and Lesneys......and lead soldiers!!

Nicely done,, it's great when you get a permission that produces.
I love digging old toys and jewelry . From the same yard I dug a Buster Brown as well as a Cinderella ring.
