Hooky & Hooky Etiquette

Hooky etiquette wasn't something that was discussed in my schools days, it was just just understood by all. The simple rule was that whoever came up with the idea to play hooky on a given day, it was up to them to plan the day. The only variance of this is if several came up with the same day, then it may be put to a vote, or further discussed. Then then were those special days that everyone was on the same page at the same time. This hooky day was just one of those special days. :laughing7:

It began like any other normal school day, arrived early to school and met up with some friends waiting for class to begin. This day one of the guys had the daily paper and we saw that the Loew's theaters in Manhattan were screening free movies, small popcorn and soda for he day! Each theater was showing a different movie and there were 3 to chose from. "Little Big man", Sweet Sweetbacks, Baddas Song", and the Stones Concert. It was immediately decided to go see the Stones first.

Just before 8:30 we waited to see the train approaching the school's station. Once we heard the train coming to a stop, we would bolt through the turn-style, race the flight of stairs and hop the train to the city. We were plenty early for the 1st showing and were close to the front of the line so we knew there would be no problem in getting seats together. After that movie, we targeted the next theater several blocks away and went to see "Sweet Sweetback" staring Mario Van Peebles. Thank god I didn't pay to see that one, it was surely the worst movie ever made. Our last stop was late in the afternoon, near 4pm to catch "Little Big Man". Great movie, but I think that 3rd bag of popcorn was one too many.

So, all in all a great day out. We saw 3 movies and had free soda and popcorn. I will always wonder if I missed anything taught in school that day that would have made a huge difference in my life. I guess not :tongue3:

How well did you use your day :dontknow:
