Hook Looking Thing...

I found this yesterday detecting my 1896 home site. And I posted the picture at the bottom of the "Today's Finds" thread about Garrett 250 Two Week Summary, and it might not have been seen much. I'm finding so much stuff on this land that I am almost tired of digging, but I dig every signal. Found a very large fishing hook too. That Matchbox ambulance was in the sand nearby.

What in the world is this hook thing?

Shape reminds me of a boot jack but arms might be to far apart for that.

Thanks for commenting! I have no idea what this thing is. Maybe part of a boot jack. It's iron and I've found some WW2 items in the area.

Could it be upside down in the pick? Double coat hook?

It looks like a tie-down cleat for a flag pole.

It's hard to tell from the photo....is this a flat piece of metal or is the base round like it might fit on a pipe? Hollow on the end?
