Is the item in the top right pic that you are holding the same piece seen on the right side of the top left pic? Almost positive that is a pre amp vacuum tube shield from a radio. (Used to shield pre amp from EMI/radio wave interference/etc)

Looks like a fun hunt, congrats!

Yes it is. It has a spring type wire inside. That would be interesting to know if it is and could it be from a 1950's era plane? The other green peices are from a plane.
Thank you for that awesome ID on that vacuum shield! From this spot I am getting parts and pieces from a crashed airplane. Trying to I'd what type of plane. May be at this for a while!

Good stuff, and I think you managed to find the only good use for a crusty Zincoln!
Kudos,
Carl

Very nice unique finds!

I just really wish I could come across a Merc or something! I see everyone else gets gets Mercs, sitting, standing and walkers,,,,,I would probably faint if that happened to me! But I love this digging stuff anyway, even if everyone thinks I am nuts!

So I found some more aircraft parts...with part numbers! The plane that crashed was a Sabre jet! Had a great day today!:occasion14:
