Home Owner Shoots Home Invaders Multiple Times After They Tried to Use Fake Gun
JULY 25 2013

A visitor to a home in Land O’Lakes, FL was forced to use his .40 caliber handgun to defend himself and others late last week.

Two suspected home invaders burst into a residence carrying what appeared to be real guns, but were in fact fakes. However, the visitor, armed with a real gun, had no way of knowing that, so, he drew and opened fire.

Both suspects were hit multiple times, with one suspect possibly being hit as many as five times.
Both suspects tried to flee once the shooting started, but collapsed in front of the home according to TampaBay.com.

A nurse driving by stopped to treat the wounded suspected criminals.
Both men are described as being in serious condition at an area hospital.

Sounds like a good way to help clear the criminal gene pool? Hope the homeowner doesn't get Zimmermaned. OOps or the guest.

Too bad......

He was such a bad shot. If they survive he will probably get sued by them.

cops are allowed to shoot children with toy guns.
I doubt their will be any problem here.

Don't need stand your ground defense there, it was home invasion, Castle doctrine applies when someone invades your home....

Castle law goes back to medieval times and castles, brought to America when we were founded, that is where term castle in the name comes from

The Florida "Castle Doctrine" law basically does three things:

One: It establishes, in law, the presumption that a criminal who forcibly enters or intrudes into your home or occupied vehicle is there to cause death or great bodily harm, therefore a person may use any manner of force, including deadly force, against that person.

Two: It removes the "duty to retreat" if you are attacked in any place you have a right to be. You no longer have to turn your back on a criminal and try to run when attacked. Instead, you may stand your ground and fight back, meeting force with force, including deadly force, if you reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent death or great bodily harm to yourself or others. [This is an American right repeatedly recognized in Supreme Court gun cases.]

Three: It provides that persons using force authorized by law shall not be prosecuted for using such force.

It also prohibits criminals and their families from suing victims for injuring or killing the criminals who have attacked them.

In short, it gives rights back to law-abiding people and forces judges and prosecutors who are prone to coddling criminals to instead focus on protecting victims.
