Home made water scoop.

I had an aluminum extending handle from a car washing brush inserted a 12 inch dowel in the end and bolted it to my galvanized scoop. Piece of foam noodle so it floats upright and a piece of rope attached in case of breakage so I can pull the scoop up and presto, a scoop with a 32-48 inch handle.

Had a chance to try it out yesterday. Works great and the foam noodle piece is just enough to keep it upright in the water. Scooped dime, nickel, electric motor for some toy and a nice ring with it.

Looks real good. As long as the back of the scoop is reinforced at the handle for a kick plate. Looks solid. Nice work.

Back is all set as the bolts are actually u-bolts with brackets on the inside and the handle itself goes to the base of the scoop. Works great!
