HOLY " " whats the chances!!!!!!

WOW!!! went to the beach today and found very little.Then i went over to a tot lot not far from there,have hit this one before and didn't find much.It was beginning to be a repeat of last time.At the back of the lot behind the little duck in the right hand corner there is a kiddy swing.I got a strong signal i believe in the 80s,not to sure was digging everything so wasn't paying close attention.I was doing the push the sand around with my foot thing and this is what i saw.I'm still in SHOCK!!! Not sure how it got there but i don't think it really matters at this point in time.

Superb find!

My guess is that someone was carrying it as a pocketpiece to make the surfaces look a little more "original."

Looks like someone cleaned it, and I've heard of people carrying a coin around to help dull the surfaces.

Either way, an excellent find!

Looks uncirculated (MS63 or better from what I can tell in the pic/s) - nice find - wish I could find stuff like that!

Great find!!! When I was a freshmen in high school I walked to the local hobby shop as they sold some old coins. Well I bought a baber quarter and I usually walked along the railroad tracks to save time. Well I know I had it in my pocket as I was looking at it on the way home but once I got there it was gone. I walked back and forth a dozen times trying to find it but sadly it was gone... So you never know, maybe the same thing happend here.

I agree. Too good of shape to have been in the ground a long time. And yes..........it doesn't really matter. Very nice find.

I would be willing to bet the culprit is an ornery boy with sticky fingers. One sweet coin for sure!
Both of the morgans that I have dug were pretty well worn down. 8)

Nice find. The coin has great detail, but it's been cleaned. You can see the fine lines on the cheek. It's also a business strike and not a proof. The pics make this coin look very clean,but it is not as clean as it looks.It has some dirt around the edges and in the cracks.
