I opened up my box in my vehicle today and I saw a roll with a silver JFK on one end.
Then I noticed all the other rolls were brand new.
Turned out it was just a faded 1997D. All the other halves were nicy, shiny, brand new 1997Ds.
*sigh*
At least I do not have to waste my evening searching.
All was not lost though....when I first went into the branch, my favorite teller told me the guy she had just served had turned in 15 dollars in halves in a bank change envelope.
She dumped them out on the counter in front of her, and I scanned them....I saw a single 1967 half, so I told her "Hey I will buy that one, and one other one". So I gave her a dollar, and she gave me two halves. One of which is below.
It is one of those foolery halves though....if you looked at the edge, it looked like a standard clad edge with copper....
What the heck...anything to not have my day be a total skunk.
Some is better than none.
I am gonna hit some banks up for some halves on Saturday. Maybe I can get lucky.
