Holed Copper.
May not be just a coppah. I can see a partial date: 888, I believe. Would be early Colonial. Assuming the hole is at the left of the coin, the partial date is underneath. You could consider soaking in olive oil, then rubbing the spot to bring the date out.
In any case, nice coin.

I have it in Olive oil as we speak... Pretty sure it's a matron large cent though last night had it in vinegar and salt and saw ONE CENT on the back and should have stopped there but let it soak some more hoping to get a date but now I don't even see ONE CENT so might have lost the details

Super nice. I've yet to find a holed coin. Its fun to imagine that hanging around someone's neck 250 years ago. Congrats!

An LC is an LC! Looking good Big D! Those kinds of places sure have a lot of bad stuff laying around but this forum is FULL of finds from these sites. Just when you least expect it...BAM!...crazy find. It’s nice to have opportunities like that!
Finding a coin with a hole wouldn't bother me a bit. Even if it was a rare coin. It's just part of that coins history. Gary

Try doing a pencil drawing. Put the coin under a piece of paper and just start lightly rubbing a pencil over it. It may pull some small detail to help you identify the coin. I have used this trick a few times to identify a coin. I like the holes in coins. I think it gives them character, and a personal connection to think someone may have worn that around their neck.

I found one the same day you did. Mine was in similar shape as yours with green patina on top and no details and I actually thought it was an old dog tag in the field but knew it might be a large cent. After it dried for a day I took a tooth pick and got some decent detail on the front. It is a matron head. Actually my first large cent ever. The map shows a house a this location in 1850 so I think there is more to find
