Finally was able to MD yesterday, found this copper disc with a hole in the center. May have been silver plated as I can make out a smudge of shine . I can make out a number on top ...1008 and what appears to be an eagle from the waist up on the bottom of the object. Can't make out anything on the reverse side.

misting spray nozzle orifice ??? The bird or eagle your seeing may be the logo for "Rain Bird Sprinklers"

I'm unable to clarify the photo. The area I found this was an old ferry crossing. In a secluded area. That is why I'm hesitant as marking it solved. Your probably correct though!
