I suppose, it Could have been a Gypsy Item too.

Usually the Hobo's used Buffalo Nickels.

But used whatever coin that had available.

It's Ground Super Thin.
& may not be complete.
not sure but it looks like a 1909

That's really neat! I've seen hobo nickels, but never a hobo penny. To me, stuff like that is far more interesting than finding some Proof 70 perfect frosted super duper ultra mega deep cameo untouched spotless encapsulated untouchable original mint lustre coin with certificate of authenticity.

I'm must say I'm jealous. What a find!

I found a 1915 British one cent piece (big around as a quarter, maybe little bigger) by the RR tracks in Largo, FL. How it got there I have no idea, funny thing is that is the only coin I found on that particular piece of property.
