Hoarding up for the winter?

Does anybody hoard their material for the winter and take the stuff in when prices go through the roof? I noticed that last winter prices for copper aluminum and tin all shot up and as soon as April of this year it took a nose dive again.

I'm probably going to start hoarding in another month, especially microwaves they are heavy as heck and last winter they were worth $180/mt as opposed to $55/mt

BCR welcome to the forum, it's a great place to be

I'm saving copper, brass, aluminum, and stainless til I gather a bunch. either to fill the pick up or 500+ pounds

The steel will proabably be twice on month, unless I amass more on the weekly runs.

I never thought about in those terms, but yeah, I do hoard for the winter. I plan to save for a while, though, because I don't come across as much scrap as others here. I've been saving cans, and I figured since I'm going to be scrapping cans, I might as well save and sort all other metal I find, as well. Metals prices really do tend to take a dive during the summer months. Anyone know why?

Thanks for the welcome everyone :)

The guy at my scale house told me it's because people would rather haul their junk out of the house or apt during the warmer months than do it when it's -20 below. Basically laws of supply and demand.

Not sure how much scrap metal you would find in the winter ???
