I did a quick introduction in another thread, but here is a more formal one.

Hi guys!
My name is Phil and I'm a graphic designer by trade and also a touring drummer/percussionist. I am deeply involved in the technical aspects of both (have won awards in both), and am also a budding audio mixer/producer.

I am also an avid arm-chair treasure hunter, with a keen interest in hand-ciphers. Vigneres and transpositions are nothing -- I am on the lines of learning decryption of playfairs without passwords at this point.

I have a deep and profound interest in history and culture and the preservation of our shared past -- and the preservation of our shared future.

Not at all, I was giving you a genuine welcome with a bit of a friendly hard time mixed in. :-)

I have no real experience in puzzles/codes, so if I ever do come across one I know where to go.

You didn't mention your state - but you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting your state for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.
