Today was a nice day and I decided to hit some back roads without a plan or destination. First I made a turn onto a dead end road where I spotted an old pump in a field and a narrow gate next to some old stuff hanging on a barbed wire fence. I made a hot lap around a tree and small grassy parking area, found a copper belt buckle, a broken buggy leaf spring, and a steel ring about 4" across. Then headed out so as not to draw attention. Found the old glass in a recently flooded valley under a tree. Then found a couple of old farms that the PO gave me unlimited access. Found a Type V US Army collar disk, with the rusted buckles and sling loop. A bunch of brass casings. I may have only found 39¢ clad but still had a great day.

This was my find of the day.

Very nice finds.
The Dark blue reminds me of a Vick's Salve jar that I remember from childhood.

That's exactly what the little dark blue jar was, it's embossed on the bottom, one of the clear ones is an embossed Listerine bottle.

Well done
I plan on scouring the back roads a little later this year.
Hopefully, I'll be retired.

Where does one find back roads to metal detect in "The Concrete Jungle" (NYC)?
