I've had this for some years now, don't remember how I got it, and haven't been able to identify what it actually is. I apologize in advance if this offends anyone, that is not my intent. The front is as seen in the picture, the back is plain, nothing on the back at all. Size wise it's about the size of a Silver Dollar. I've have googled myself blind trying to identify this thing. I figured with the TNET brain power on here, someone would set me straight on it once and for all.

Re: WWII Brass Disc?

Y'all have found more in a few minutes than I have found in a few years. But I still haven't a clue to what it is.

Re: WWII Brass Disc?

I do not believe that anything was made during that time period that resembles that unless it was probably a birthday commemoration tinney.... I have seen many reproductions that look like it though. Unfortunately probably 75% of Nazi items you see today are, to put it politely hot off the press...I have been a casual collector for 40 years and have been fooled a number of times....I posted a NSFK Balloon flight pin up about a year ago, I thought it was original, turned out to be a very well crafted fake...

Re: WWII Brass Disc?

If no one here comes up with a positive ID keep and eye out in your area for any civil war or militaria shows in your area. Even if it is just classified as a civil war show lots of times there are people there who know the later items too.

Re: WWII Brass Disc?

That's what I've been leaning towards myself DG, either a fantasy piece, Neo-Nazi piece, or KKK Piece. But I would still expect there to be more information out there. I know what you mean about collecting TR stuff, got to be careful and know what you are looking at. Someone had to have made them, so I would assume that someone out there knows exactly what it is. I just haven't found that person yet.

I also thought it might have been a tinnie, but had no luck with that route. Been trying to figure out the significance of the 1943 date, all I could come up with is that it was 10 years after he took over as Reich's Chancellor.

i have no doubt it a reproduction flea market buy.

back in my wilder motorcycle days i had one exactly like it on my livi jacket.

they were a dime a dozen.

they also had them for saloons, cathouses and KKK.

If I were to guess, I would agree with DG, ffuries and dozer here. That also explains all the auctions with no explanation.

Gonna green check this one. We all are in agreement that this isn't a period "Disc Thingy". Since there is little information out there on this thing, it's just another strange thing that I've aquired over the years.

Any Hitler Youth would go with the diamond symbol somewhere on it. I have never seen a HJ item with the diamond some way worked into the design.

I agree with you there DG. All Hitler Jugend stuff I've seen has either the Diamond or HJ on it somewhere. Was I premature in giving this the "Green Check"?
