hit the old army air field again......

they are digging, razing, and building all sorts of new buildings at the university.....the more the university builds, the faster the old air base dissappears....drats ! they scraped down about 6 inches along the shoulder of one of the last remaining original base roads this past week, so i decided to give it a go....i guess i was cherry picking as i only dug coin sized/small targets as i went along....about 2 hours into the hunt i dug this sweet little 39 merc...woooo hoooo ! other targets included a 40 wheat back, some small brass whatzits, a few memorial cents and some coin sized shards of aluminum.....it wont be long before the place is covered with concrete and my old army airfield will be gone forever....oh well....best wishes...hh

I feel for ya, they are doing the same thing here only it is not a old army base the college is tearing up it is older homes & school parks. If you can get there after they bulldose & before they excavate you are doing well.

went by the old base today......the last original roadbed is gone and they were preparing to tar over the new road they built up over it.....drats ! hh
