Minelab Explorer XS-2, Garrett Ace 250
Left the house around 6:15-6:30 this morning heading to some schools I had been wanting to detect and no wrong turns, and found coins everywhere!! Was hoping to find a piece of "keeper" jewelry but not to be. I found coins on top of the ground, just under the ground and three or four inches in the ground. I was using my Ace 250 for these schools!! I hit four schools total and found:

1 Clad Half Dollar
51 quarters
79 dimes
39 nickels
122 memorial cents
1 wheat cent
1 foreign coin

294 total coins amounting $24.33

Yesterday I detected the spot where my friend had found his Spanish silver and I found only one coin, but it was a Shield Nickel(1870).

I like those older Nickels, but the ground just tears them up!!

Great hunt Jack.
Congrats on the old nickel.

Nice nickel.

I would have liked that myself, most places I hunt just don't have the good stuff you find!! I usually settle with East Coast Posts for the Colonials!!
