Hi All,
Hit the same area again today. My ear seems to be getting a hang of the soil. The Safari is definitely struggling with the Ga. red clay. Slowed down a bit and nailed 2 quick buttons a dropped bullet and a fired bullet. Tons more nails and a couple of IDK's. These are my first CW buttons. We don't get this stuff down in the Tampa Bay area where I am from, so any CW finds are a special treat.

Now your talkin. 2 nice GS eagles and another williams type III. This one is missing the plunger. Those are hoof indicators of a camp. Why are you diggin all those nails.

The minelabs really sttuggle in the hot ground. I hunt in it all the time. If you bring one you are usually waisting your time.

The whites dfx mxt b&g xlt
Tecknetics T2
Fisher f75
And a few others work about as good ss they get in high mineral soils.

nice finds, all the stuff y'all find over there makes me want to make a trip east!

Great job I found tons of new bullets but still waiting on my first civil War

Killer finds, Another williams just without the bottom, The two GS eagle buttons are cool too, Wish I could help you out on Iding the rest but other than the nails .....I'm lost...................................HH

Thanks everyone for your nice comments. I have been informed that the last item above is call a "Worm". It was used to grab a cleaning cloth that might have gotten stuck in the barrel. The item between the bullet and the button may be a plunger for a Williams type III. It looks to be the right size comparing it with the whole one I found the other day.
