So I went out to a local park that I had never been to before with my hunting buddies, Lee and Larry. Larry was driving by it a week or two ago and noticed they had moved some dirt around, so we waited patiently for him to get some free time to go out and hunt it with us since we didn't want to be the kind of guys who took others prime hunting ground. Sadly, there were holes everywhere and you could tell that someone had cherrypicked it already. My first signal was a 1909 V Nickel with half of the edge sticking out of the ground. I also found 2 Buffalo Nickels, a no date D mintmark and a 1936D. I also found some older Jeffersons, 1946 and 1947. I also managed to pull 3 wheats out of there as well; 1912, 1914, and a no date with crud all over it.
Then later on this evening I met up with Lee at a park here in town that I have been hunting a lot lately. 30 seconds into it I get a great signal... Out pops a 1925S Mercury Dime. Then 5min later I get a nickel hit and pull 2 V Nickels out of the same hole! The years were 1902 and 1906. I then managed one more wheat (1942) before it got too dark. Not a bad day if you ask me!
I had only found one V nickel ever prior to today and had never found more than one buffalo nickel in a day. 2 Firsts today!
