I did a quick hunt down the road at a circa 1900 church. I went right to the spot where I found the 1918s merc last trip. Not five feet away I got good but not great signal right away. Flipped the plug and saw one dime. Silver #50 fty:headbang:. I knew it was likely a Barber as I have found a bunch of 1900's indians here but no Barbers. Got it home and it turned out to be my first Barber from the 1890's.:headbang: I also got the most toasted indan I think I have ever dug. Gonna take the weekend off from detecting. Thanks for looking and happy hunting

Congrats on your first Barber from the 1890's. Always nice seeing an 18 in the front although a 17 is even better :)

Congratualtions on the old Barber dime! :occasion14:

Very nice Barber, toasted.........gotta get me to church............:laughing7:

Thanks. Ive actually done better at old schools than old churches though most of the old rural churches around here have produced at least one Barber. This church has been the best with five silvers now. I usually find lots of indians at them but the silvers are scarce. The school finds are not quite as old though

:tongue3:.....my crack about "church" was tongue in cheek......my wife is a minister...........(yep, I get sermons throughout the week) and I have permissions to hunt at multiple old (city and country) churches.
But, thanks for that bit of advice..........I'll let you know how I fare, if I ever find anything but clad coins..............:laughing7:

Grats on 50. Silvers 43-50 came quickly.

Thanks. Ive been hunting nearly every day for the past nine days and have found a silver or at least some indians and or large coppers every day. Lots of rain and beginning to speak deus fluently. It would be nice to get a hunt with a handful of silvers though. I think Ive only found more than two silvers in a day twice in 16 months. I know Im due for a dry spell soon though

Congrats on fifty, nice Barber too!

Great looking barber. Congrats

Congrats on the sweet Barber dime! -

That's a great milestone..50 FTY... and the season is only half over! I'll be lucky to hit that mark on 12/31...assuming the ground's not frozen solid. Well done!
