Hit a diamond piece Buff nickel & other stuff
We had an unusual extra week of THing weather here in Michigan so I got out as much as possible. I've been doing well on the usual lumber camp relics.
Anyway, last evening I decided to hit my own front yard. In 13 years and 12+ different detectors I've never found anything good in this area. But, since I never hunted it with the Nautilus IIB I thought I'd waste a little time there.
I dug the second half of an old roller skate I had dug last week on the other side of the house. I dug the spoon part of a 1920's ice cream spoon handle I dug last spring some 30-40 feet from this location.
I then got a very small but solid good signal. I dug down 10+ inches and widened the hole. I was hoping my wife wasn't watching! The signal was still in the center of the hole. I took one more shovel full of dirt and I finally got it. I think it's a 1890's style scarf holder. I saw it had 3 fake diamonds in it. Well, I thought they were fake! By the time I got to the house only 1 remained. Somehow I lost 2 stones!
I put the remaining stone under light and almost lost my cool! I went back outside and shoveled the dirt from the spot and put it into a drying area. I'll sift that stuff and see if I can find the other 2.
Man...BE CAREFULL with those finds!
Love & Peace!
Oh, I almost forgot! I dug the sterling silver ring and buff by an old sidewalk in town. Both were less than 5 inches deep.
