History Channel "Battel Of Antietum"

Re: History Channel "Battel Of Antietum"

:D
Missed it also. I dosn't matter if your watching it on TV or in person, people using metal detectors like weed wakers are funney to watch. But it's better to watch them in person because then you can go behind them and pull out the good deeper targets. Oh yes the one time it's not funny to watch them swing detectors like weed wackers? Is when you are in a compitition hunt, then you are one of two types of people. One of the many swinging your weedwacking detector, or 2 sitting on the sideline with a broke detector, which is very very bad for you.

One time I'm not watching the boob and they have something good!

The weed wacker approach to detecting is VERY popular. That's one reason I usually do well in hunted-out parks.

Amen to that!

LOL!

Were they hunting near the battlefield or on the battlefield? Can you give me more details please?

Now I find myself wondering if I'm swinging my MD correctly. Anybody capable of creating a little instructional movie clip to show us newbies?

Re: History Channel "Battel Of Antietum"

All the manuals I have seen have a sentence or paragraph about how to swing your machine. Basically, keep the coil perfectly level, swing side to side out in front of you, and be sure to overlap your last swing. Speed usually is given at about two feet a second which is a moderate pace. Some prefer to go slower and I go a little slower as I have found I may miss some of the more subte tones if I go too fast. No matter how many times I have gone over an area, I nearly always find something I missed the last time and it is not usually something new. I just missed it trying to sort things out. The biggest problem I have is too many tones. Occasiionally I find a place where the "hits" are about 6" apart and then I have to go real slow. JIM
