Historic hydraulic mine

Just finished working some tailing piles today. Tough work! I've seen a lot of folks get some decent specimens from old hydro-tails. But as far as a paying operation? Nothing but legends. I'm in the Folsom area, if you need an extra hand or some light equipment? I can be of service.

Thanks for the reply. Were you metal detecting the tailings? We are going in to run some material to test the virgin areas of the mine then apply for a 1000 yard permit for next year. What type of equipment were you thinking as i have to keep it small until permitting is done. We're just testing with micro concentrator and gold cube. We may run some tailings next year to see what's in them besides mercury. Thanks,Marty.

Good luck with the permits!!!!!Especially since you mentioned Mercury which you will certainly have!!!Most were fairly profitable and were some what inefficient, but keep in mind how much earth they were moving to get what they got.Not meaning to be discouraging but "mining",in Calif right now is pretty discouraged

1000 yard permit isn't too hard to get-takes 3 to 4 months. Will use a Gold Claimer wash plant which recirculates 100 gal. of water and can process 2-8 yards/hr. Next step after that is filing a plan of operations which can take two years. The 1000 yard permit requires posting a bond-approx. $5000. My total time frame to get the project completely underway is 6 yrs. as that's when i retire and go play in the dirt. I have an advisor onboard to help with regs. The only crapshoot is gold prices. If they keep going up for the next 6 yrs. it will make the project more viable-we think gold goes much, much higher. If gold were to reverse we'd have to scrap the project.
