If the beach(es) you plan on hunting is designated as an historical place, be careful that it is not off limits. check first. TTC

TerryC, the description of historical at the site is...

Historical Featuresare physical or cultural features
that are no longer visible on the landscape. Examples: a dried up lake, a
destroyed building, a hill leveled by mining. The term makes no reference to the
age, use, or any other aspect of the feature. A ghost town, for example, is not
a historical feature if it is still visible.

It's basically something that use to be there not something legally historic.

Most beaches in ct are private. You can hunt them but stay below high tige mark. Ct water is from long island sound, so there is almost no waves. I would try

Old Saybrook, by Fort Saybrook at Saybrook point. There is also Bluff point state park in groton, there is a old home stead of a ship captin. I would also look at the CT

DEEP laws on metal detecting, just google CT DEEP. Good luck

ask on the beach & shallow water hunting forum - I hunt some Ct beaches with no prob
look for Lorraine and Craig-PI - they live down there and are avid Ct beach hunters
