Found this in a cache of copper and brass and a flashlight dated 1933. dog-3 006.JPGdog-3 005.JPGdog-3 004.JPGdog 003.JPG The end is hollow and might have had a handle . I thought maybe it held tea since tea bags were invented around 1933-1934.
 

In your other post you say it was found in a hobo camp, or at least in the area of hobo concentration during the depression. Perhaps it was to take a live coal some distance in order to start another, new, fire. It's not very big,
and I have no idea how long a coal would last, so it's just my swag.

Are you sure it's aluminum. Doesn't look to me like aluminum in the photo.
