Another nice day, colder but no wind, so perfect to get on with the gridding. We are starting to grid away from the main area so the find rate has dropped a little. Still good though.
5.5 hrs produced;

34 Roman Bronze Coins - 1 of Follis of Fausta, AD324-25 - By far our best example - Made my day.:icon_thumright:
1 Frag of Roman Silver Siliqua.:sadsmiley:
1859 3pence
Roman Hob-Nail
Roman Childs Ring
1st C AD Roman Fibula (Brooch)
3rd Foot Guards (Scots Guards) Button - A first for me, back-mark dates to 1800-40 (more research to narrow it, but I think Napoleonic period)

We have spent years looking at thousands of coins & researching them all, mostly using a library of specialist books.

Another fantastic hunt! :occasion14:

Great Scots button. Haven’t seen that one up before. Caught my attention with that one right away! Congrats. That denarius is close!

Yeap, I can only find the pre-1800 types on-line.

That follis of Fausta is beautiful! It's from the Lugdunum mint (Lyon, France). I don't think I've ever seen a Fausta from Lyon before and I collect late roman bronzes. Could be a scarce one!
