We spent just less than 6 hours gridding the best area of the hill.
Not lots of finds but I'm pleased with the final result.

9 Roman Coins
2 Neolithic Flints
Tudor Buckle
Roman Leather Mount
Roman Bracelet Frag.
Broken Tudor Clothes Fastener
Hammered - James I Halfgroat 1610
Saxon Small-Long Brooch 6th C AD - We were hoping for a complete one :headbang:
A circa 15th C Bronze Lombardic A - I've seen single letter Pilgrim Badges but they are lead-alloy. The letter being the initial of a Saint. It also has no visible attachments on the reverse. I'm not sure what it is, but its a cool find in my books.8-)

My kind of hunting. Wish we had the old sites like yours. Good job!

I'd be pleased too, with a nice silver, and the "A" to boot.

Never seen before nor heard the story behind. I know many types of pilgrims "Souvenirs", but not something like this. Learned again here! It's an interesting find and probably very rare, i still love the Saxon brooch more. :tongue3: So cool to find a complete one!

You get an "A+" on your finds. That is pretty damn cool.

Awesome old finds. Nothing like that around here. Congrats

True, nice silvers, come & go, but the 'A' will probably never be repeated or be seen again anywhere....

Soooo cool.... Very jealous of the very old coins you find over there. Sure would be awesome to one day make it over there for the experience of it! Thanks for showing your latest finds to us!!!!

Great Finds.

Wow Cru, the big A is really interesting. What a cool find. Also, being a coin guy I have to say congrats on the half groat.

Well, yours is the first bronze (or is it?) version I have seen, so they did do them & yours has the fixing holes. Now we need to think which Shrine produced? A Saint beginning with A, I can think of 2 options.

As for date, its clearly medieval but a little harder to narrow down than mine. Maybe 14th C.
