Highs & Lows I dig them both:laughing7:

You're just in-between seasons Ina. Beach hunting is about done for the year, and the relic fields will become available in the next few weeks. I'm sure you'll find something to keep you busy until then. Hang in there!

Even notice in this hobby how moody we are? When I am finding stuff, I am having the time of my life, and I don't want to stop detecting. Then there are times when you find nothing and it's slightly depressing.

So that's where I'm at - Today's Finds! = a slump.

No matter where I go.

There I am.

Huh??? What'd he say?

Whether it's this hobby or any other thing we choose to do. We still are we. Whatever baggage we have comes right along with us. The trick is to concentrate more on the matter at hand and less on what we're trying to forget.

This hobby makes it a bit easier than most other things though. Instead of looking for a spot where "treasures" abound, try changing your perspective a bit. Appreciate the small things. The weather, being out, being ABLE to do this and on top of it all, found money! No matter how I would rather find a gold ring or coin, when a nice clad quarter shows up, I still always smile a bit. :)

Just thinking out loud but how much harder does it make it to come on here and see ALL those WONDERFUL finds? That someone ELSE is finding. I know it should be encouraging, look what can still be found. But, sometimes, that seems to add to the depression. (But, only until my next find. :) )

Take a break and then go back when you really feel like doing it, not because of "gold fever" or some such. You'll enjoy it more.

Good luck!

Better days will come. I've hit dry spills where I'd go for several weeks or longer without anything good to put into my collection. All part of the treasure hunting hobby.

Yep......finding a few relics and some fairly neat stuff but can not buy a good coin. Pocket knives, penny buttons, pocket watches, locks, and the list goes on. Great places to hunt and now a dead metal detector. At least I am incredibly handsome.......wait......just checked in the mirror and now I am really in a foul mood. :BangHead:

Try hunting in the UK on vacation and then coming back to the US, makes one almost not want to dig. Yes, I know there are some great US finds here, but my area is tough as the farm fields are all gone, everything old is built-on or a ghetto and no nice big old parks. Sometimes I just wanna scream! Be nice if someone was willing to share a good site with me that wants a hunting buddy! :hello:
