Higher freq. vs lower

Are higher frequency detectors more suseptable to falsing than lower freqs?

I am in NO WAY a techno electronics person but I JUST read in my "digging deeper with the DFX" book last night that if you use the single frequency 15KHZ. that it is less likely to receive interference than using the single frequency 3KHZ signal. The lower frequency is more likely to pick up interference from other electrical sources. I'm not sure yet what the rationale is, just passing on the information.

I have no idea either,except,I know the lower the frequency,the deeper it goes and it will find smaller gold than a higher frequency.This I have been told by several hunters/dealers.True?I don't know,I just find what I find at whatever depth and I'm happy with that.
