high turnover rate at order banks

Well I just lost 2 different vault managers in the same month. Anybody else have this problem. I'm not really sure the purpose of buying gifts when the next time you go in they may not even be there anymore. Do you guys still buy gifts anyways, even though you may not see them the next week or month?

At Bank#1:
I called to order my usual $3000 in halves and was denied. Gia no longer works there, and now all of a sudden the vault can only hold 1 box. I tried to switch my order to $500 in halves and the balance in quarters ($2500). She said she would check something and call me back. I wasn't waiting by the phone and didn't expect a call back. Of course I didn't get a callback, I know she was just b.s.-ing me. I am going to try again for $1000 in halves and see if they will ok that.

Bank#2:
Sandra no longer works here, but the new guy seems really nice.. I did downsize my order to $1000 in halves to test out the waters so to speak. Never had any problems whatsoever at this order bank, so hopefully things will continue to go smoothly..

HH to all

that's tough, hope they treat you well, just got to build up the order slowly, I started out with 1 box, went to 2 boxes and are currently on 3 boxes of halves being ordered. the vault manager even let me inside the vault, it is very small- honestly, there was a box of nickels in there which took up a lot of space. fitting the 5x10 single layer boxes sideways just fits(height and width) ... hope this helps, hh!

I've seen a little bit of turnover as well, but nothing major like that. The turnover that I have seen though is when someone gets promoted to a position at another branch, they will usually promote from within the ranks so it helps to know them all.

As for gifts don't make it to personal, something they can share with their co-workers, a box of Godiva seems to be the fan favorite. $30 to make some people happy, don't skimp on the brand either, you want them to know you go all out for them, not just some crappy Russel Stover goo balls.

I try to get to know the other bankers and people as well, you gotta work the regular teller line a little as well looking for loose halves and general transactions. You wanna be well known(and liked), not just the guy/gal that terrorizes the merchant teller.

Has worked for me so far.

BigHeed definitely has a point there. Can not tell you how many times I have walked into a bank to only find that my favorite head teller or supervisor has been transferred or promoted.

As he said, stay well known among everyone and don't stick to favorites. Simple things like asking how a regular teller's day was, or even being apologetic towards the teller having to bring out your heavy boxes goes a long way.

I just found out this morning that my "box ordering girl" got moved. Now I've got to start all over again. :(

I use to gift, but not anymore. I'm in customer service at work, no one gifts me for doing my job, and I don't expect it. Besides, when I started gifting, the silver disappeared off of the teller line (hey girls - this coin collecting nerd must be on to something!) ffd

Everyone has a valid point on here.

I have a handful of banks that I gift at which, are my drop off and pickup banks. As everyone knows, lugging 4 25lb boxes of halves probably isn't the highlight of someones day. One bank that I was getting a nice amount of silver out of completely dried up after I gifted them, another bank saves all the silver for me now after a box of Lindt truffles.

Never know how it's going to go, have to read your situation and determine what's appropriate.
