Welcome to the site! What is the statue made of? Is is metal, it reminds me of an old lead toy, but I have never seen one like that. I hope someone here can help you more than I did, I mainly wanted to say "welcome!"

Welcome to the forum. Your piece appears to be Native American, i.e., with the open mouth and "bug eyes." Is it possible that this is one human figure of a set of many, meant to stand in a circle. Each one would have an arm on the shoulder or below the arm of the two figures next to him.

Thus, that is why your figure has "hands" on his back, specifically, his upper shoulder and below his arm. I have seen pottery and carved stone "family" figures like this, all in a circle, from Africa also. Very cool find and worth having a Native American artifact expert check into it! Sub

I agree with the original configuration having been as described above, often called a "circle of friends".

Here is another example of one.

??I am quite familiar with the Indians of Northern Calif, especially in the area she describes and have never seen anything remotely close,so if it is "Native American",it is not Native to there

Thank you all for the warm welcome and thank you for your time.

I will have to ask my cousin where and how on this item, she told me before, but I forgot. . You see she actually gave me these items to research almost a year ago and, well I forgot I had them until 2 days ago when I got a call saying that her house was burning to the ground. These few little items wont replace what is lost but I hope that it will be a start to begin again..

In case your interested here are the other two items:

The camera was produced in the 50's and 60's and was actually a working camera.

I agree with Kuger on this one, and if this artifact came with the little Bible from Alleghany, PA, then it may have been found out there on the east coast. It may be a Mississippian Period artifact, like many examples we have seen here on the Tnet. I am glad she saved some heirlooms from the fire. Sub
