First off, I'm assuming most if not all of these finds where found in the Sluice with seeded buckets. Nice first few images: Amethyst, followed by Smokey Quartz and maybe an emerald or two. Then theres that great shot of the Rutalated Quartz.. Your doing very well.

First congratulations, you are finding some real cool rocks. Thanks for showing them to us.
But can I make some suggestions on you pics.
Try to use natural light.
Put one or two similar rocks on a solid color background, fill the viewfinder with rocks. No hands. I use the top a rusty 50 gal drum. It soaks up the light and helps minimize reflections. The natural light gives the truest colors.
If you are trying to show a transparent or translucent rock, then try getting a shot on an oblique angle to the suns rays shining through the rock. If it doesn't come out in the photo, then just describe it's transparency.
Lastly, when you post a pic with many rocks it.just tells me you had a good day. A couple of good shots, from different angles, of one rock will give us more to work with.
We still haven' t ID'd some of the rocks from your first post. I would like to see some more shots of the blue and white one.

Thank you very much for the advice..Everytime I take a photo I end up taking several shots and give up on the best out of all of them..I will play with backgrounds and light and when I am able to get it down I will post new ones of the first post..I really wish to find out what the blue and white rock is so I can label it for my kit for when I am hunting...I will also try to post details..streak..hardness..and such to add to being able to id them.

Sure I have heard that some gem mines actually set up mining operations in creeks.. (Basiclly dumping seeded buckets into the creeks) But non the less.. It's about what we would expect to see and find on our travels.. Thou get to an few of these places early.. and they tend to have a better slection.. or an actual mine to explore.

Yes I heard about that...we were late lol...I am looking for a mine that My husband and I could go to this weekend since we will not have little ones with us...They went swimming in the creek at Hiddenite Gem Mine last weekend so we cut our visit short.

Hum.. your in TN.. we have family there, thou I can't say when we will return to them. But I'll be happy to keep you posted of any plans to meet up while we are that way.. I think the last time we went to Franklin, NC hiddenite Mines it was soon after a haeavy rain.. and several people fell attempting to enter the sluicing areas.. it was muddy and very unplesant.
Perhapes we can scedual a trip to Gem Mountain (Aquamarine Mine) this working mine takes reservations to explore thier gem mine.. Granted we tend to hang out at or near the NC TN boarder.. So one would need to research actual working mines.. Most are the tourest trap kind of road side attractions.. But I do have a few that we've deemed relyable. Gem Mountain Is but one of them.

That would be great..I feel if I searched with someone with experience I may be able to learn alot more on what to look for..M.A.G.M.A has a few mines listed that I am checking into as well as seeing if anyone could give me ideas of where to look...I know of alot of prospects around my town that are on mindat but finding the owners has let to walls...I know locations so I am asking around our little town...Franklin seems to be the best place to go but as you said tourist traps are all over...I will post any findings that would allow people to come in and search as I find them...Thank you for keeping me updated.
