LOL. I can see you're new here. Better wise up before some of the others snap at ya. "Best place to metal detect". Psh. That alone isn't even valid statement. Also, Utah county where? If you want to find a legit location to detect. Do your research. Find old maps online of the area, then overlay them on google earth using the overlay feature. Ask around, visit old parks. Find where you're allowed to hunt. In time, you'll learn. We all did.

Dog everything at first, then learn to exclude iron. But you pretty much always wanna dog anything with a non-ferrous (not iron) signal. Can't tell you how many times I dug gold or a sideways coin that had an iffy signal!
