Hi, names Artie, I live in Pepperell Ma. with my wife and son. I started inn this hobby in 1991, bought an Eagle Spectrum. I saw the ads, thought I was gonna be rich, well about the time it was sinking in on me, that you didn't get into this hobby for the money, I got bit by the fishing bug, bought a boat, and chased stripers and bluefish for 13 years. Now witha wife and son, boat is gone (still got 26 fishing rods hanging in my basement rafters) and I've been back in the hobby for a couple of years now. I mostly prefer beach hunting, but get excited anytime I find anything. Artie

Gary, funny part is I don't eat fish, don't know how to swim. I just find it such a thrill when the line suddenly gets pulled down, and a fish is on. I also get the same thrill every time the detector starts telling me there might be something good down there (basically I'm still just your average eleven year old). I had never found a gold or silver ring till this year (well I did find a lost wedding ring for a friend's bosses wife, back around 94). Got 5 gold rings, and 5 silver rings this past year, none of the gold was large or better than 14K, but I'm still smiling over them. Haven't had any real finds since August, but I have learned to measure my success in fun, not finds (which is, of course, what everyone not getting spectacular finds says LOL) Artie

Welcome from N. Mississippi. I had the boat bug also. Still have the 15 rods and lures that have never been wet. In this sport, they bite most of the time.:coffee2:

Hello and welcome.

Thank you all, for the warm welcomes, hope everyone had a nice Christmas. Artie

Welcome Artie, good luck
