The first thing I do is to map dowse an area...Then I drive down the road with a dowsing Rod in my right hand..When the rod swings I stop..I then take my Ranger tell and get the information I need like the depth, distance and the @ size...If it is of interest me I pull up a Google Earth map of the area. I try to find the easiest way to get to it....Art

Hi every body jast bought my new metal detector and I don't k where to go. I wanna try to find gold and silver coins or treasure but I don't k right park or field. Or nice beach lol
If same one can sachets place or tell story what and where found gold.....( treasure )) lol. Will be so happy to read and discuss!!!!)))

Thanks everyone

What is name of detector? What part of LI are you from? I lived in Hempstead and Geo. Washington slept there! I found a musket ball at age 11 where the rain washed it up. Kidd was there on the beach. Are you near Coney Island? gold coins have been found at low tides there near lead things. HH Boris Jones beach I found much with eyes at age 12 with my dad.

Why ??? Duk any good any spate on Long Island ????

older the land the better you can tell right away if the place you are detecting has been made recently. Wherever you go just make sure you dont leave a big mess with holes everywhere or you won't be able to go back if its a good spot! HH

Duk location where is it ??????

sergey ;

Please forgive
:tongue3:

must be a language barrier, you keep saying "Duk" & "licens"

I think by "licens" (license) you mean permit ? If I were you i would stick to places
like your yard , if you have one, friends & families yards, if you can,
small parks were there are no signs posted with rules against it,
and get used to your detector.

as for finding gold and silver coins or treasure, the silver coins will come with experience,
they are almost everywhere people have been.

gold coins may come if your lucky.
not to many get that luck. it's just slightly more likely
then hitting the lottery, or getting struck by lightening.
actually your more likely to get struck by lightening,
while golfing in a thunderstorm, then digging a gold coin.
they are there but rare.

& since "treasure" is in the eye of the beholder, I find it every trip out .
of course a 1958 wheat back cent lost by someone &
found by me is treasure in my eyes :icon_thumright:

Why

?

"Duk" ? "spate" ?

does duk = dig ?

does spate = place ? or spot ?

again no disrespect just curious

As long as you enjoy the hunt you have had success. When the day comes when I do not wonder what is around the next corner will be very sad...Art
