Since January of this year....with a switch in detectors....... have found more old silver than a person has a right to........(the detector switch much to the chagrin of some of my fellow detectorists)......now sites has been a big key....yes......research?......don't really know about that ...though trying to narrow down can work...........
one place markg of pa and I hunted was a researched old beach but luck got in the way and we got a really neat cache of coins including seated dimes.....(posted that) then beating around another research place got another neat cache (now for me anything of 4 silver in a given area on the same day is a cache for me) with 3 SL-types........(posted that).....

at the island park local I got 4 pieces of Barbers (think I posted) and the rev war buckle.

on this past sunday Markg and I got up at 6am and ran up to a ol field hockey camp in the poconos ....once again networking and research kinda paid off........we had been there before and started on a first glimpse type spot and started to get wheaties between the two of us around 12-13 and the dates were teens, twenties, and thirties......

then bam nice barber down at 6-7 inches.......then Mark took me to task with as he yelled it: SLQ quarter, then SLQ Half, Then SLQ quarter and now I'm like hum,um......

pulled two more Barbers including a 1908-0 full Liberty.............then right at the end.....[we are both candidates for the "see you at divorce court" club]..................got the 1924 Merc in beautiful shape ......these coins did not even get a spit wash.

WE DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE...see above

Father's Day? hoping! enjoy the pic...........aloha johny mc. in pennsy

Sweet coins! I notice you didn't say which detector you switched to.....

I did a lot of research when I was a kid in Yakima, WA, and it really paid off well. Since then I've done a lot of research around the Portland, OR area, too, but it hasn't netted me squat so far. I've had better luck here just following my nose.

Hmm...was re-reading your post--was your buddy pulling out 'seateds' or 'standings'?

Way to go -- very pretty barbers -- and also very interrested to see what detector you switched from and to :)

ZOINX,, thats awesome,, you seem to be hitting em hard,, wtg and keep em comin,, ;D ;D ;D

Yo Big John
I got us the "get out of jail free cards" from the developer, along with detailed maps of the 600 acres today. I think things can only get better at this site!
As for divorce court, maybe we can find an attorney that will give us a group discount!
See ya later

Those are some great finds there! I would be happy with half of that in a week! I'm thinking maybe I need to find some new sites! :)

HH!

Wow, nice silver lot you have there. I'm wishing for some this weekend when I go detecting. James

Nice silver coins. Those old park woods and groves and washouts offer a good place to find old coins.

I had a few parks like that in the past here in pa. You can still find coins in them even if everyone says they are hunted out.
