All Treasure Hunting
Hello,
I’m from Nolan County, Middle of Nowhere, Texas. I’m a newbie here and at all things treasure hunting. I retired from teaching 2 years ago to take care of my dad. He died a year ago, right when covid was hitting. I am now bored out of my mind and looking for something to get excited about. I’ve been picking up pretty rocks while out walking—- and am about to beg for help with identifying some 😁. I also have a bunch of old coins that I should probably do something with. I could be a multi-millionaire and just not know it yet! Haha!
Do you all hunt for the thrill of the hunt, hoping to find something of great monetary value, or just because you like “pretties”?

In desperate need of a hobby,
Dana

Welcome to TreasureNet Dana! Metal detecting is an excellent way to discover the lost history right beneath our feet. Personally, I do get a thrill every time I get a hit. One never knows what you’ll find.
It’s wonderful being outside getting fresh air and exercise. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
Best of luck to you on the hunt.

Welcome to the forum from the Blue Mountains of northeastern Oregon! This is a great place to learn a lot about treasured hunting, metal detectors, history, mining, finds and general information! Personally, I hunt mainly for the fun of it and the interesting finds made. There is always the hope of finding something valuable in monetary terms, but some of the finds are personally valuable just from the experience or place and circumstances they were found in. Good Luck!
