Hello, I found this rock in my backyard a few years ago while having a new foundation put in. I always wondered what it was and if it was at all special? Can anyone tell me what this is? Thank you!

A ruler or something for scale would be great help. Looks like a real neat stone to me, almost like a polished tumbled piece of smokey quartz.

Goldie has it, agate. Agate is a micro crystalline quartz that is also known as chalcedony and is translucent. You piece does look like it has been machine tumbled to polish it.
