Hi everyone New Member from California

I am new here and just wanted to introduce myself this is an AWESOME forum you guys have here!!!

I found treasurenet as I was searching for info about Metal Detecting because I ran into a guy at the beach with a detector and he said he finds money and jewelry all the time. I just couldn't stop thinking about treasure hunting since that day and I am now looking for my first Metal Detector.

I have no clue what brand or model I should get, this question probably comes up like every other day from new guys I suspect so I will try to use the search button for a thread on it but would appreciate any links or knowledge that anyone can share. (My budget is under $300)
