Well, I'm new here and I'm reading and studying everything you folks say and considering it all in good faith. So don't be posting anything that ain't true....

I'm a land locked diver from Texas, stuck in Ohio, headed your way ( if you're in the Florida area ). I've visited the South Coast plenty of times but never East or West.

I'm guessing when my wife gets tired of me, I'll be begging for a job as a diver on a boat with potential, so again, no stretching the truth with me.

Welcome aboard.I live in San Antonio & hangout in Sebastian a lot.Been making the journey for 13 years.Everyone around here always tell the truth.Just ask John or Dell or Lynn or Ivan where they found their last coin.Same answer, somewhere between Sebastian Inlet & Jupiter Inlet.Enjoy the forum.Great bunch of truthful people. Well, I'll say this. I'm smart enough that I spent quite a few days reading before I even signed up. If there weren't good upstanding people around here, I woulda stayed clear.

I used to do quite a bit of hunting back on the farm, then on the Frying Pan and the Dripping Springs ranches outside of Amarillo. Never found anything better than an indian head or a mercury dime. Maybe some tools here and there. But since I first got interested in scuba, I've been thinking about a new hobby. I have a good friend down in the keys that runs a dive shop and am considering making the move in the next year.

Pyrotten,

Welcome to the forum, but make sure you get your innoculation against Treasure Fever before actually visiting the coast. The virus can be life changing, though those who survive the fever emerge even stronger for the experience!

Pyrotten,

I am new here as well...been scuba diving for several years, even bought a small place in Central America to "practice diving" but won't be able to make any moves outside the U.S. for some time to come. I read this board for about six months before joining and saw clearly there is a lot of knowledge and even better yet, a lot of experience on here.

I just started making frequent trips to Florida for diving but haven't got to the good stuff (wreck diving) just yet. In fact, if anyone knows a good dive shop for wreck diving (i.e. someone knowledgeable to show us some) I would appreciate any recommendations. Just looking for the first step to get involved.

Welcome guys,
Lot of bs runs through here but it's all in good fun even though it can get heated up sometimes. You are right, we are a good bunch and the bunch just grows from year to year. I have met some of the greatest guys right here.
Caribrad, where about in Central America? We have some of the best (artificial) wreck diving off of Daytona, and the lobster out on the ledges are big'uns!!. A good friend has a boat great for diving so if you get this way, we will swap you some wreck diving for a place to stay in sunny C.A!

anyway, join in the fun

Thanks Diverlynn. Our place in CA isn't quite ready yet, but I am sure we can work something out eventually..

oh...forgot. The place is Granada, Nicaragua. No immediate ocean but we liked the history and the colonial architecture.
