Hey Washingtonians! How did the 09 hunt go? Post stories and pictures

Only two West (wet) siders (Tim and John) and Paul and I from the East (dry) siders showed up for the hunt. We started out at initial park Paul noted on the 09 Hunt forum, but where chased off by softball players (don't feel like getting hit on head with ball). Some of us did finds some coins but all I found where clad type not sure on others. Went to another old park Paul knew about but was full of thrash. Seems the lawn keeper does not get off his machine to pick-up pop or beer cans or other metal containers. So the lawn was littered with torn pieces of aluminum. I did manage to find a Canadian penny and a couple of new US ones. Paul had to leave the hunt, due to family issues. Paul gave us directions to school ground that was once a orchard in the north part of town. The three of us left with Tim and I stopping for lunch while John continued on to a park. After filling our bellies Tim and I headed over to meet up with John. John was busy detecting near the school, Tim and I headed to another open field. I found several new coins (pennies and a quarter) but still no silver or wheaties. Tim received a phone call from his wife stating her van broke down with her and the three kids. Sun was beating down on us so everyone decided to call it quits.
I had a great time even though I didn't find any silver or old coins/tokens it was just nice getting out detecting.
So that is may take on the 09 Hunt.

I ended up with 37 clad coins with a value of $3.06 and a little redness on my arms and face, especially my beak. The weather was great and it was good to put some faces to names. Next time we'll find a pile of silver (and gold bars)!!!

Keep looking for gold and silver. I know there are pieces out there with your name on them and some with my name waiting to be found.

The 2009 hunt is still on going. I'm going out all the time. One day a year is only a planning stage for me.

Hi Guys

Sorry I missed the hunt, but I had to work. >:(

Wish I could've been there to meet everyone and 'put some faces to the names'. Sounds like you guys had a good time and the weather was great.
Keep me in mind for next time.

Had a good time and it was nice to finally meet John. 49er is much better with words than I'll ever be. And before JuJu can say it. Must come with age....lol... I found lots of clad. A few quarters , dimes , nickels and a bunch of pennies. I also found a peace pipe. It was hot. But I like the sun... And the wifes van is in the shop as of today and we are waiting for the "it's going to cost you" call....
