Been poking around North Georgia for a few years( Towns and Rabun counties mainly).... found some color. Also some cool rubys and saphires. Lots of free time now, until my restaurant re-opens in the spring. I know of a few spots to go prospecting without trespassing. Just bought a house less than a mile from a few old prospects... found two creeks behind my house with tons of quartz and black sand no gold yet but havent really given it the "college try "

I'm a newby here and to gold prospecting and I'm trying to find places in GA to go. I've only been doing a little panning up around Allatoona so far, but I'm interested in getting together with other folks, finding places and learning. Hey Chris.... i know there is a pretty large group that goes on group outings around Allatoona.. check with the peeps at Little River Marina... i think they may meet there, i have a lot of research material and free time ... where do u live ?

Chris and Jeff! My name is Jim and I am here in Dallas,Ga. Paulding Co.! I am new to this myself but if yall ever want some company when you go out I would love to join up with you. I am itching to learn and I am pretty much glued to my PC right now trying to pick up info but would love to get out and get dirty!LOL I have a guy that is willing to show me how but says he aint getting in the river this time of year ....it's too cold! I feel that if I am willing to go out on Allatoona in my kayak to go fishing this time of year then I am willing to go find some dirt in the same area!
